Founded in 1989 by the Iaquinto family and headquartered in Highland, Michigan, USA, the company has earned an outstanding reputation for manufacturing premium-quality architectural glass products, including:

Their rapid growth and manufacturing excellence eventually attracted the attention of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE)—North America's largest building envelope company—which acquired Midwest Glass Fabricators in 2024, recognizing the company's exceptional market position and manufacturing capability.

The Beginning of Our Partnership
 

Every great partnership starts with trust.

In 2010, Midwest Glass Fabricators was operating entirely with European-made equipment. At that time, investing in Chinese machinery was still uncommon for major North American fabricators.

Rather than making a large commitment immediately, the company decided to take a cautious first step.

They purchased a used Xinglass tempering furnace from Ohio at an attractive price, simply to evaluate its performance.

What happened next exceeded every expectation.

The furnace operated reliably year after year with remarkable stability, producing high-quality tempered glass while requiring minimal maintenance.

The outstanding performance convinced Midwest Glass Fabricators that Xinglass represented not just a lower-cost alternative—but a reliable long-term investment.

That single decision marked the beginning of a partnership that continues today.

Investing in Growth

After years of successful operation with the first Xinglass furnace, Midwest Glass Fabricators chose Xinglass again.

In 2017, they invested in a brand-new Xinglass QX-GTH1840AA-DS Dual-Chamber Flat Glass Tempering Furnace (1800 × 4000 mm / 72" × 157"), capable of processing glass from 3 mm to 19 mm.

The dual-chamber design significantly increased production capacity, shortened cycle times, and provided the flexibility required for a rapidly expanding business.

The investment immediately translated into higher productivity, faster delivery, and greater competitiveness.

Expanding into Jumbo Glass

As demand for oversized architectural glass continued to grow across neighboring states, Midwest Glass Fabricators identified another opportunity.

In 2020, they once again selected Xinglass, purchasing a 3000 × 5000 mm (120" × 200") Jumbo Flat Glass Tempering Furnace (QX-GTH3050) together with a 3000 mm-wide Xinglass Horizontal Glass Washing Machine.

The new jumbo production line enabled the company to manufacture large-format architectural glass for commercial buildings and curtain wall projects, strengthening its position as one of the premier glass fabricators in the region.

Today, Midwest Glass Fabricators processes a wide range of premium glass products, including Vitro clear glass and advanced Solarban® Low-E coatings such as Solarban® 60 and Solarban® 70, serving demanding commercial construction projects throughout the United States.

More Than Just Tempering Furnaces

The cooperation between Midwest Glass Fabricators and Xinglass has expanded far beyond tempering furnaces.

Today, the customer operates multiple Xinglass production systems, including:
   •    Flat Glass Tempering Furnaces 
   •    Jumbo Tempering Furnace 
   •    Horizontal Glass Washing Machine 
   •    Vertical Glass Washing Machine 
   •    Insulating Glass Production Line 
   •    Supporting Automation Equipment 

At present, four Xinglass tempering furnaces are operating in their facilities.
Running 24 hours a day in three shifts, the company continues to experience strong demand, with production schedules consistently operating at high capacity.

Their continued investment in Xinglass equipment reflects long-term confidence built through years of reliable performance.

A Stronger Future Together

Midwest Glass Fabricators' remarkable growth transformed the company into one of the strongest competitors in the North American architectural glass industry.

Its success ultimately led to its acquisition by Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) in 2024, integrating the company into North America's largest building envelope organization.

Following the acquisition, Xinglass has continued supporting both Midwest Glass Fabricators and OBE with equipment, technical support, spare parts, and ongoing service, further strengthening our presence in the North American market.
